Betamethasone is a corticosteroid that is used to treat certain skin infections like redness, itching, and swelling caused due to conditions like czema, psoriasis, contact dermatitis, and seborrhea.

How it is taken

The best way to use Betnovate is as recommended by your doctor.

The medication is gently and thoroughly massaged over the affected area gently 2 to 3 times daily. There must be enough medication to cover the area with a thin film. In certain conditions, the affected area may need to be covered with a dressing.

Betnovate is a corticosteroid that is used to cure severe inflammation caused by a variety of skin ailments.

Missed Dosage

If you miss a dose of Betnovate, then you may take it as soon as you remember and adjust the remaining doses accordingly. However, if it is nearly time for the next dose then you may skip this dose and continue with the regular dosage. Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed dose.

Storage

Store it at room temperature (between between 68 and 77 degrees F (20 and 25 degrees C) in an air tight container protecting it from direct exposure to light, heat and moisture. Keep away from pets and children.
 

You must not take Betnovate if you are allergic to any ingredient in it or betamethasone valerate, have chickenpox, have fungal, yeast, or viral skin lesions, have herpes simplex, have tuberculosis of the skin, have vaccinia.

Some of the common side effects of are burning, itching, or irritation of the skin, increased redness or scaling of the skin and dry skin. Please contact your doctor if the symptoms persist or become bothersome.

Other severe side effects include dark red spots on the skin, painful, red, pus-filled blisters in hair follicles, thinning of the skin, with easy bruising, sunburn more likely especially on the face, lack of healing of the skin condition and infection.

You must seek medical attention immediately if any of these side effects occur.
